After joining the military in 1987, 1SG (Ret) Thomas spent over 23 years in the Army and retired as in 2010 after serving as a First Sergeant with 3rd Brigade 1st Infantry Division in 2010 out of the Fort Hood area.  He was responsible for the combat readiness of over 100 Soldiers and their families; responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing the logistical support for all unit operations.  He served two tours in combat in Iraqi and Afghanistan.  He spent time training many units for combat as an Observer Controller at the National Training Center in California for two years.   He earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Management/Human Resource Management with Columbia Southern University.   He currently serves as the Warrior Transition Brigade Transition Coordinator, providing services and assistance to all Soldiers in Transition and their family members.  Mr. Thomas serves as the Unit’s representative at meeting with federal, state and local employment representatives to discuss marketing strategies, program status and problem areas as well as coordinate for and negotiate transition/employment assistance. Mr. Thomas proudly serves on CMA’s Board of Directors and assists with coordinating, planning and executing CMA workshops throughout the U.S.
